Mr. Victor Dale Maxam's Obituary
Mr. Victor “Dale” Maxam, age 83 passed away peacefully on Friday, November 9, 2018. He was born on June 20, 1935 to Victor and Janet (Karsten) Maxam in Holland, MI. Dale proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict while in the United States Army. He married the former Alice Warren on January 23, 1960, whom he met while attending Hope College. Dale and Alice were members of Spring Lake Presbyterian Church and were avid bicyclists. They participated in several rides around the country, including a ride across America. Dale also was a HAM Radio Operator and was able to connect with someone in every country that allowed the radio. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and children. Along with his wife of 58 years, Alice, Dale is also survived by his children, David (Lee Ann) Maxam and Linda (Chris) Turkstra; three grandchildren, Carson Maxam, and Lily and Joy Turkstra; brother, Donald (Elsie) Maxam; and sister-in-law, Gloria Warren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, John Warren. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 15 at 11AM at Spring Lake Presbyterian Church (760 E. Savidge St.) with Rev. Carl Bergman, Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service from 10-11AM.
