Victor Anthony "Vic" Norkus' Obituary
Mr. Victor Anthony “Vic” Norkus, age 62, kind, loving and giving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle passed away Monday, December 27, 2004 at his home. He was born February 15, 1942 in Muskegon to Victor and Mary (Hladki) Norkus and lived his entire life in the area. He worked as a machinist for Sealed Power Corp. for over 35 years and retired in 1999. Vic was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Polish Roman Catholic Union and was active with the Retiree’s Golf League. On September 18, 1982, he married the former Nancy Cates and she survives him, along with 3 children, Brian (Beth) Norkus of Chicago, IL, Anne Norwood, Chad (Amanda Farber) Norkus; special niece, Barb Briggs all of Muskegon; 6 grandchildren, Jessica, Allison, Tommy, Alex, Emily, Olivia; great-niece, Nancy Ann; his mother, Mary Norkus of Muskegon; 2 brothers, Mike (Cathy) Norkus, Bill Norkus both of Muskegon; 1 sister Yvonne (John) Hinton of Lansing; and many special relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and his sister, Vicky. THE FUNERAL LITURGY will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, December 30, 2004 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Louis R. Stasker presiding. INTERMENT will take place at Norton Cemetery. VISITATION with Vic’s family will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday at the Sytsema Funeral Home, 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210.
