Victoria M. Tanis' Obituary
Victoria M. Tanis, age 80, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022. She was born August 9, 1942 in Muskegon to Roman and Helen (Swiatek) Halasinski. On February 4, 1961, she married Arthur L. “Bomber” Tanis Sr. in Muskegon, and he preceded her in death on September 18, 1981. Victoria worked for Muskegon Window Company for 30 years prior to her retirement in 1989. She loved to work in her yard and spend time with her dogs. She also enjoyed cooking and entertaining for holidays with family and friends. Victoria is survived by three children: Arthur L. (Christine) Tanis Jr., Daniel (Megan) Tanis, and Roxanne Tanis; five grandchildren: Corey, Amanda (Anthony), Danny (Kelsey), Tyler, and Camber; five great-grandchildren: Maddox, Alexis, Nova, Avelyn, and NoaRae; long-time companion, Paul Stone; brother, Don Halasinski; two sisters: Tresa (Kevin) Hutchinson and Mary Thompson; many nieces and nephews; and former daughter-in-law and friend, Josi Canales. She was also preceded in death by 5 siblings: Roman, Bernice, Jerry, Larry, and Jim. A celebration of Victoria’s life will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 22, 2022 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100. Visitation with the family will be from 2-4 PM Sunday, August 21, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Mona View Cemetery.
