Vietta S. Hippchen's Obituary
Vietta S. Hippchen, age 78, passed away on August 16, 2021. She was born October 7, 1942 to George and Margaret (Wickland) Hurtubise in Muskegon. She married Charles H. Hippchen in 1983 and he survives her along with 2 children, Cynthia Mendez and Douglas Wolowicz; step-children, Paula (Ray) Skoglund, Charles G. Hippchen and Tammy VanDyke; 4 grandchildren, Joseph Mendez, Jacob Mendez, Lilli Whelpley and Tyler Whelpley; 2 great-grandchildren, Delilah and Oliver; 9 step-grandchildren and 14 step-great-grandchildren; brother, Norman Hurtubise. Vietta was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Pamela Parker. She enjoyed looking after her cat, Koko; husband, Charles; and attending Dorcas Circle Group at Dr. Martin Lutheran Church, all prior to the accident 13 months ago. Special thanks to her daughter, Cindy; granddaughter, Lilli; and caregiver, Abby for the compassionate care they have given her for the last year. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held for Vietta at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. VISITATION with the family will be the evening prior from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorials can be directed to Hospice of Michigan.
