Viola A. Blake's Obituary
Viola Blake, loving wife of Thomas Edward Blake (deceased), passed away Thursday, December 3, 2015. Viola was born in Muskegon, Michigan to Albert and Isabel (LaNore) Anderson on August 15, 1927. She retired in 1990 from the Department of Social Services where she was employed as a case worker. Viola volunteered at the Humane Society and throughout her life was committed to eliminating the inhumane treatment of animals. She participated in the Macrobiotic support group and provided loving support for those battling cancer. Viola enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, walking her dogs and singing along with Ella Fitzgerald, and Frank Sinatra. She considered it her civic duty to keep the city commissioners on their toes when it came to repairing the roads in the Bluffton area. Viola was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. She is survived by her children, Isabel (Tom) Blake-Evans, Tom Blake, Melanie (Tom) Thornton, Rebecca Blake-Innis; grandchildren, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Blake, Carolyn, Melanie, Jennifer, Abigail, Sam, Margaret; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Albert “Bunny” Anderson; sister, Lanore Anderson. A service for Viola will be announced at a later date.
