Viola Marie Fielstra's Obituary
Viola “Vi” Marie Fielstra, age 82, passed away December 26, 2025, in Muskegon, MI. She was born June 6, 1943, in Ludington, MI to Jonnie and Marie (Sauers) Polk. In 1958, Vi married the love of her life, James Fielstra Sr., and they spent 68 years making many memories together.
Vi found joy and creativity in her hands, from crafting, canning or enjoying the outdoors, camping. Her entrepreneurial skills thrived through her dedicated involvement with Avon, a role in which she enjoyed sharing the products and creating genuine connections within her community. She also enjoyed preparing taxes every year. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were what brought her the most happiness. She loved spending time with them and hearing their laughter.
She will be missed by her husband, James; five children, Debra (Bob) Chaffee, Dawn (Bob) Everett-Gee, James Fielstra Jr., John (Marnie) Fielstra, and Michael (Ellie) Fielstra; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and brother John Polk. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; two brothers; one grandchild, Hailey Everett; and one son-in-law.
A Memorial Service will be held for Viola at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Laketon Bethel Reformed Church, 1568 W. Giles Rd., Muskegon, MI 49445.
