Mrs. Viola Lee's Obituary
Mrs. Viola Esther (Zook) (Boutell) Lee, age 94, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2014 in Muskegon. She was born Easter Sunday April 4, 1920 to Harry and Winifred (Mapes) Zook in Manistee, MI. She married Frances Boutell in 1937, he died in 1939. She then married Willard Kenneth Lee on November 10, 1941 and he preceded her in death on June 6, 1995. Viola worked for the City of North Muskegon for 18 years before retiring in 1970. SURVIVORS include her children: David (Joan) Boutell, Sandra (Charles) Oliver, Linda Ippen, Lawrence (Virginia) Lee, Eunice (Robert) Butt, Cindy (Joe) LaCaze; 31 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Viola loved her Savior and Lord. She enjoyed reading her Bible, knitting, making canvas ornaments, sewing, playing cribbage and bingo, camping and travel. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Robert Myers; son-in-law, Morton Ippen; grandsons: Martin Ippen and Kenneth Playter; great-grandson, Benjamin Hewitt; brother, David; sisters: Elenore, Ethel, Dorothy, Zepha, Harriet, and Betty. The family would like to thank the staff at Sanctuary at the Park, Johnson Cancer Center, and Trinity Hospital (Mercy Campus) for all the care that was given to her. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Evanston Ave. Baptist Church with Pastor Matt Sharpe officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Lakeshore Cemetery. MEMORIALS to the food pantry of your choice will be appreciated.
