Viola May Rameau's Obituary
Viola May Rameau, age 93, passed away on January 27, 2018 at The Poppen Residence. She was born on May 17, 1924 to Louis and Bertha (Hughes) Cole in Crystal Valley, MI. On February 18, 1943 she married Robert “Rink” Rameau and they were married for 45 years until his passing in 1988. Viola loved crocheting, knitting and watching baseball; both the Detroit Tigers and her grandchildren’s games. She was a faithful member of First Wesleyan Church for many years. She is survived by her children, Louis Rameau, Jonathon (Bea) Rameau, Andrew “Tom” (Debie) Rameau, Vicki (Steve) Carlson, Jeanine Rinard; grandchildren, Bob, Jeff, Jon, Jamie, Jinger, Stephanie, Andrea, Tommy, Anders, Stefan, Nolan, Nathan; 18 great grandchildren with one on the way; five great-great grandchildren; brothers, August Cole, James Cole, David (Twila) Cole; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, Robert; two brothers; three sisters; son, James; grandson, Jacob; and great-great grandson, Maddox. A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Viola will take place on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at First Wesleyan Church (1040 E. Forest Ave.) at 2:00 PM, with visitation starting at 12:30 PM. Burial has already taken place in Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either First Wesleyan Church or the Harbor Hospice Foundation.
