Viola R. Rollenhagen's Obituary
Mrs. Viola R. Rollenhagen, age 85, died Sunday evening, Oct. 12, 2003, at her home. She was born Feb. 16, 1918 in Perry County, IN to William J. & Minerva (Walker) Lynch and has resided in the Muskegon area since 1938. Viola was an accountant for the Muskegon Heights School Board and then taught in the Fruitport School District as an elementary teacher for 9 years, prior to her retirement. She was a very active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church; and was also a member of the National Education Association and the “Celebration Singers”. She will be fondly remembered as a wonderful quilter, a fabulous seamstress, and as one who enjoyed all crafts. On Aug. 29, 1940 she married Ernest “Howard” Rollenhagen, and he survives her along with 2 sons, Gordon (Bonnie) Rollenhagen of Canton, MI and Keith (Rosalie) Rollenhagen of Ames, IA; 4 grandchildren, E.Todd (Penny) Rollenhagen, Mindy (David) Walters, Erin and Nathan Rollenhagen; 2 great-granddaughters, Alea Rollenhagen and Dara DeVries; 1 sister, Alice Burwell of Asheville, N.C. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at Seventh Day Adventist Church (3040 Evanston Ave.) with Pastors Ryan Counsell and David Glenn officiating. Burial will be in Mona View Cemetery.
