Violet A. Peterson's Obituary
Violet A. Peterson, age 87, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020 in Muskegon. She was born on May 23, 1932 in Muskegon to John and Elizabeth (Pego) Micko and resided in Muskegon all of her life. Violet worked for Orchard View Schools for 25 years prior to retiring in 1994. She attended both First Lutheran Church and Crestwood United Methodist Church. Violet was multi-talented having earned her black belt in karate, played the bass guitar, and enjoyed riding motorcycles. She also loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren, and spent many weekends camping with them. Violet was a member of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians. On January 7, 1955 she married Robert Peterson and he preceded her in death on April 14, 1988. SURVIVORS include her three sons, Robert A. (Jill) Peterson Jr., Gary B. Peterson, William J. (Theresa) Peterson; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and four sisters, Veronica (John) Burrows, Mary Hammond, Margaret Rose, and Rita Schurino. Violet was also preceded in death by sisters, Mildred Micko, Phyllis Riley, Carol Duarte, and Catherine Bevins; brothers, Basil Micko, Cecil Micko, John Micko, Bernard Micko, and Gerald Micko. Memorial Services will be 2PM Saturday, July 18, 2020 with Pastor Bill Uetricht officiating at The Lee Chapel - South Portico of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S.
