Mrs. Violet A. Wessel's Obituary
Mrs. Violet A. Wessel, age 93, of Grand Haven passed away Monday, November 17, 2014 at Sanctuary at the Shore. She was born November 8, 1921 in Chicago to Peter and Sophie (Zumada) Lach. She married Edward J. Wessel on October 20, 1945 in Grand Haven and he preceded her in death in 1976.
Violet was a member of St. Patrick-St. Anthony Catholic Church. She enjoyed knitting, but most of all being around her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by four daughters: Linda (Terrence) Dwyer of Grand Haven, Christine (Dennis) Mackay of Spring Lake, Pamela (Luke) Niehof of Wyoming, Patricia (Robert) Schmidt of Grand Haven; two sons, Edward (Patricia) Wessel of Grand Haven and Peter (Barbara) Wessel of Grand Haven; nineteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by two sisters, Genevieve Urbanik and Rose Benes; two brothers, Cornelius (Karen) Lach, and Donald Lach; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Irene Kisisondi, Stella Zuidema and Florence Raczok; two brothers: Bruno Lach, Emil Lach.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Friday, November 21, 2014 at St. Patrick-St. Anthony Catholic Church with Rev. Father Philip Shangraw officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will take place in in Lake Forest Cemetery.
