Violet May Howard's Obituary
Mrs. Violet May Howard, age 92, passed away peacefully at Stoughton Hospital, Stoughton, WI, on Nov. 23, 2011. Violet was born on July 23, 1919 into a large family of James and Rose Hannah (Barley) Storton in Cople, Bedfordshire, England. She was a member of the British Commonwealth Club since coming to the United States in 1947. She married the love of her life, George E. Howard, on November 27, 1947 in Muskegon, MI where they raised their children: June, Robin and Vicki and were active members of Lakeside United Methodist Church. In 1956, Violet became a United States citizen. She and her husband resided in Muskegon enjoying membership in the “Happy Wanderers” camping group and spending time with children and grandchildren. Retirement years were spent in Florida where she enjoyed her many hobbies of dancing, shuffle board competition, cooking, baking, knitting, needlework. Preceding her in death is her daughter, Vicki Lynn. Violet is survived by: her husband, George Howard; children, June (John) Moldstad and Robin (Barb) Howard; 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at Lakeside United Methodist Church (2160 Crozier) with Rev. Steve Weinbarger and Rev. Tom Peterson officiating.
