Virgie Millicent (Eichorst) Obenauf's Obituary
Mrs. Virgie Millicent Obenauf, age 88, of Muskegon passed away Tuesday evening, April 5, 2011. She was born in Ferry, MI on July 6, 1922 to George and Carrie (Wall) Mendham and moved to the Muskegon area in 1945. Virgie had been employed at the George Morrell Company for 21 years as a press operator before her retirement. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and going out to eat. Virgie is survived by her three children, Robert (Mary) Woodward of Manitou Springs, CO, James (Laurie) Eichorst of Spring Lake and Linda (Gary) Allen of Muskegon; 5 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Rudolph Eichorst and Milton Obenauf; an infant daughter, Karen Christine Eichorst; four sisters and eight brothers. SERVICES will be 11:00AM Monday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Rev. John Brown officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service. INTERMENT will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. MEMORIALS to Harbor Hospice – Poppen Residence would be appreciated.
