Virgil Williams' Obituary
Virgil Williams, age 81, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Roosevelt Park Nursing Home. He was born October 11, 1943 in Biloxi, MS to Junius and Amanda (Stimage) Williams. Virgil moved to Michigan when he was 16 years old. He was employed as a machinist for the E.H. Sheldon Company until he retired in 1975. He gave his life to Christ at an early age at St. Luke Baptist Church under Reverand Whiteside. Virgil enjoyed making his homemade ice cream for his grands and great grands whom he was very passionate about. He loved cooking for them and spending as much time together as possible. Virgil was a Buick man and two things he didn’t play about was missing his daily numbers and his tires being dirty. He always talked about his girls, and they were his pride and joy. He was so full of life and had a very infectious laugh. Survivors include his loving companion of 61 years, Dundle Faye Hayes; six children, Virgena Hayes, Shuntina (Donnie) Hamilton of Midlothian, TX, Sheila (Charles) Thomas of Frisco, Texas, Juanetta (George Williams) Burch of Hilliard, OH, Sheronda (Michael) Burt, Dartanya Hayes; 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; sister, Mae Frances McBride; a host of nieces and nephews; and a very close friend and caregiver, Carlise Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mae Catherine Spencer, Alean Richards; six brothers, Lovely Williams, Alonzo Williams, Jim Williams, Roosevelt Williams, Robert Williams and Q.C. Williams. A Funeral Service for Virgil will be held 11 AM Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Beulah Missionary Baptist Church (2601 Manz Street, Muskegon Hts. 49444) with a Visitation being held 1 hour prior to the service (10-11AM).
