Mrs. Virginia "Ginny" Ashcraft's Obituary
Mrs. Virginia H. “Ginny” Ashcraft, 93, passed away Saturday evening, August 10, 2013, at Christian Haven Home in Grand Haven. Born April 17, 1920 to John and Flora (Langlois) Chandonnet, she lived all her life in the Muskegon area. She married Donald H. Ashcraft November 21, 1940 in Muskegon, and he died February 13, 1980. Ginny was a life-long member of St. Jean Catholic Church where she had been a Lector, Eucharistic minister, and member of St. Anne Altar Society; and was currently a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Her SURVIVORS include her children: Suzanne (David) Campbell, Daniel (Shirley Maturen) Ashcraft , Marsha (David) Mahynski, Maribeth Bland, Brian (Janet) Ashcraft, Gary (Barb Terpstra) Ashcraft, and Rhonda (Wayne) Romatz; 11 grandchildren: Barry, Shannon, Kelly, Tyghe, Marci, Zachary, Jaclyn, Jenna, Abigail and Bradley; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother Victor Chandonnet; and sister-in-law Lillian Chandonnet. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers Charles, Raymond, George, Philip, Lawrence and Clarence Chandonnet, sisters Bertha Sandberg, Delores Boucher, Rita DeMarse and Louise Busch; and sons-in-law Norman Goodwin and James Bland. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL for Ginny will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 920 Fulton St., Grand Haven, with Rev. Fr. Bill Langlois and Rev. Fr. Michael Olson as Concelebrants. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION will be 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444, phone 231-798-1100, where a SCRIPTURE SERVICE will begin at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS to Christian Haven Home Memorial Fund or St. Patrick’s Catholic Church would be appreciated.
