Virginia Ellen Bartz's Obituary
Mrs. Virginia Ellen “Gini” Bartz, age 84, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023 in Muskegon, Michigan. She was born in Muskegon on January 29, 1939 to Ervin and Marian (Stevenson) Wagner. On September 19, 1969, Gini married Edward Bartz and they enjoyed 42 years together prior to his passing in 2011. She was employed in administration by GTE prior to her retirement in 1989 at the age of 50. Following retirement, GTE called on her to work as their consultant in Florida for a few additional years. Gini enjoyed reading and spending time at their cottage on Clear Lake, which later became their permanent residence. She was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching University of Michigan football, the Detroit Lions, and the Detroit Tigers. She is survived by her daughters, Janet (David) Harris and Tawny (Charles) Husted; stepsons, Alan (Marjorie) Bartz and Ronald (Janet) Bartz; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brother, Ervin (Denise) Wagner and brother-in-law, William Norkus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Bartz; daughter, Renee Snowfleet; sister, Carol Norkus; and former husband, James Snowfleet. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. MEMORIALS in memory of Gini may be directed to Gentiva Hospice or Muskegon Rescue Mission.
