Virginia Deephouse's Obituary
Mrs. Virginia Deephouse, age 100, passed away Sunday morning, October 23, 2016. She was born June 5, 1916 in St. Louis, MO to Jordan and Maude (Callow) Holcomb and has resided in the Muskegon area since 1921. Virginia was a member of Lake Harbor United Methodist Church; and enjoyed sewing. As a hobby, she was the owner of Vicky Lynn Doll Hospital. On October 28, 1933, in Spring Lake, MI, she married Gerrit Deephouse and he preceded her in death on May 23, 1970. SURVIVORS include two sons, James (Chieko) Deephouse of Fruitport and Kenneth (Ruth) Deephouse of Norton Shores; her daughter-in-law, Betty Deephouse of Hesperia; 8 grandchildren, Gloria (Mike) Olovson, Roger (Lorna) Deephouse, Jeffery Deephouse, Lisa (Marc) Damman, Linda (Jon) DeVoogd, Susan (Brian) Bellamy, Jane (Brent) Robbins and Brian Deephouse; 12 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and great-grand-children and her half-sister, Hazel Smith of Carrolton, TX. She was preceded in death by her son, William, earlier this year; her parents and brother, Jordan Holcomb; and daughter-in-law, Teruyo Deephouse. A FUNERAL SERVICE for Mrs. Deephouse will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Lake Harbor United Methodist Church with her Pastor, Rev. Mary Ivanov, officiating.
