Virginia "Jean" Rose Strach's Obituary
Virginia “Jean” Rose Strach (Tutak), age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 6, 2016. Heaven gained another “Special Angel”. Jean was born on January 26, 1928 in Shelby, MI to Simon and Sophia (Biolas) Tutak, and lived most of her life in the Muskegon area. On August 4, 1951 she married Ignatius Joseph Strach and together they were blessed with 3 daughters. They enjoyed 56 years of marriage together until his passing in 2007. Jean worked as a manager of Grossman’s beauty salon for many years until setting up her own salon. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, and most of all being with her family. She was a gentle, loving, funny, compassionate woman who will be deeply missed. She is survived by her 3 beautiful daughters, Debbie (Bob) Skiba, Margery Jenican (Howard Brief), and Janet Sitar; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren who all referred to her as Gigi; sister, Mary Tutak; sisters-in-law, Hattie Tutak, Stella Tutak, Dorothy Strach, Virginia Strach and Ethel Strach; brothers-in-law, John Strach and Melvin Arnson. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Ann Tutak, Irene Strach and Fran Arnson; brothers Leo, Chet and Ed Tutak; brothers-in-law, Stanley, Walter, Edward, Michael and Frank; and sister-in-law Geraldine Tutak. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held on Monday January 11, 2016 at 11am at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church 2929 Mc Cracken St . VISITATION will be held on Sunday January 10, 2016 at The Lee Chapel 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 from 2-4 with a rosary being prayed at 3:30. Memorial Contributions can be made to Hospice of North Ottawa or St. Francis de Sales building fund.
