Virginia M. "Jinny" Langlois' Obituary
Virginia M. “Jinny” Langlois passed away Friday, March 24, 2023 just a few weeks shy of her 98th birthday. She was born April 21, 1925 in Muskegon to Clarence and Marjorie (Hoskins) McGregor and was a lifelong resident of the area. She married William A. Langlois in San Francisco, CA on August 10, 1945 and he preceded her in death on August 15, 2006. She worked as an administrative assistant for many years at the family’s business, Langlois Home Furnishings. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Survivors include 9 children, Bill Langlois, Mary Anne Langlois, Bob (Mary) Langlois, Betty Lou (Sandy Dodson) Langlois, Jorie (Charlie) Tonkinson, Leo (Sallie) Langlois, Nancy (Matt) Matthews, Laurie (Randy) Mergener; Dan (Nikki McRoberts) Langlois; 26 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren; and 1 brother, Bill McGregor. She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Langlois; her grandchildren, Bobby Langlois, Ryan Mergener, Christine Dodson; her parents; 1 sister, Betty Powers and 1 brother, Don McGregor. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, April 21, 2023 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 2929 McCracken Street, Norton Shores, MI 49441, with Rev. Fr. Michael P. Olson presiding. The Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 PM Thursday, April 20, 2023 followed by Visitation 5-8 PM Thursday at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the Mass, 10-11AM Friday at the church. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be directed to the Harbor Hospice Foundation or Western Michigan Adult & Teen Challenge, 440 Pontaluna Rd, Norton Shores, MI 49444.
