Mrs. Virginia "Ginger" Marine's Obituary
Mrs. Virginia “Ginger” Marine, 83, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021, at her home in Norton Shores. She was born April 28, 1937 to Julius and Phyllis (Longo) Patt, Sr. in Grand Rapids and lived most of her life in the Muskegon area. Ginger was a longtime member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church where she belonged to the Women’s Guild and the funeral luncheon committee. She enjoyed working on events at Mona Shores and helping Shelly in the Sailors’ Cove. She was a breast cancer and stroke survivor. Ginger loved taking care of her family, she took pride in keeping a beautiful home, and she loved cooking, baking, sewing and knitting. On September 14, 1957 she married Thomas A. Marine, and he preceded her in death on June 5, 1996. Survivors include 3 children: Scott (Norma) Marine, Michele “Shelly” Marine, Michael (Bobbi) Marine; 5 grandchildren: Alan (Moddam) Marine, Thomas and Emily Marine, Lauren and Kendyl Marine; 1 sister-in-law: Millie Patt; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers: Julius “Jay” Patt, Jr. and Gordon Patt, and sister-in-law Delores. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 25, at 11:00 AM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass. Entombment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Marine may be made to Hospice of North Ottawa. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
