Mrs. Virginia Laura Strach's Obituary
Mrs. Virginia Laura Strach, aged 90, passed away peacefully at her home July 4, 2017. Virginia was born September 27, 1926 to Peter and Sophie (Brychell) Szczesny in Muskegon. On October 16, 1950, she married Edward H. (Bobo) Strach and he preceded her in death on March 26, 1993. Virginia was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church where she served on the Altar Society, lecturing and leading Rosaries. She was a former member of the Legion of Mary. Virginia loved to play cards with her family and friends and solving crossword puzzles. She is SURVIVED by her children, Thomas Strach of Muskegon, Richard (Kelli) Strach of Atlanta, GA, Mary (Tim) DeYoung of Rockford, Gerard Strach of Grand Haven, Daniel Strach of Pearland, TX, Terrence (Rose-Marie) Strach of Albuquerque, NM, Laurie Strach of Grand Rapids, and Sharon (Bruce) Reder of Portage; grandchildren, Matthew, Stephanie, and Alison Strach, Kirk, Ryan Edward and Quinn Deyer, Edward and Anna Virginia Strach, Brenna, James, and Alexa Reder; great-grandchildren, Claire and Olive Williams; and several nieces and nephews. Along with her husband, Bobo, she was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Mary; brothers, Ben and Jerome and sisters, Genevieve O’Toole and Teresa Doerr. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 1716 6th Street, with Rev. Fr. Charles Hall presiding. VISITATION will be Friday evening, July 7, 2017, from 5-8 pm at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100, with the Rosary being prayed at 5:30 PM. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Harbor Hospice or Muskegon Right to Life.
