Mrs. Virginia A. Thompson's Obituary
Mrs. Virginia A. Thompson, 86, passed away Friday evening, November 8, 2013 at her home. Born April 14, 1927 in Muskegon to Derk and Grace (Ludlam) VanDyke, she married Arthur F. ”Rosebud” Thompson April 8, 1950, and he died May 11, 1998. Virginia was a cook at Muskegon Christian School for many years, volunteered at Mercy Hospital, and loved her grandchildren. She was proud of earning her GED diploma while in her 70’s. She had been a lifelong member of East Muskegon Christian Reformed Church. HER SURVIVORS include her children: James A. (Kathie) Thompson, Nancy A. (Jim) Meyers, and Carol A. Weideman; grandchildren: Sarah and Calvin Davis, Mandy and Craig Morton, Ryan and Stacy Meyers, Beth Thompson, Josh Thompson, Justin and Amber Meyers, Lyndsey and Josh Taylor, Grace and Jeremy Churchill, Michelle Thompson, and Joe Thompson; ten great-grandchildren; and a brother, Don (Marge) VanDyke. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother Richard VanDyke. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held for Virginia at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 14, 2013 at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema funeral Homes, 6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444, phone231-798-1100 with Pastor John Brown officiating and interment in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
