Virginia A. Hart's Obituary
Mrs. Virginia A. Hart, age 84, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at a local nursing home. Mrs. Hart was born on November 11, 1924 to Claude and Emily (Shimmel) Himmelberger in Muskegon, MI. After Claude’s passing in 1931, Virginia was raised by Rev. Calvin Sr. & Emily Mahan. Prior to her retirement, Virginia enjoyed working for Ravenna Public Schools as a bus driver. Her passion was flying and she loved to travel with her son, Dale, around the world. She attended Immanuel Lutheran Church and was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of VFW posts in Florida and Michigan. She enjoyed doing crafts and puzzles. SURVIVORS include her children, Dale (Ann) McAllister of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Diane McAllister (fiancé, John Kamps) of Twin Lake; 2 grandchildren, Tracy (Jim) Diaugustino and Shannon Ware; 10 great grandchildren; her brother, Calvin Mahan, Jr. and 2 sisters, Carol (Jerry) Witt and Joyce Marshall. Mrs. Hart was preceded in death by 2 husbands, Herman Gordon Dood McAllister in 1965 and by William Hart in 2004; 1 son, Paul McAllister; 1 grandson, Trent Kersting and brother-in-law, Steven Marshall; 2 brothers, Raymond Mahan and William Himmelberger; and 2 half-brothers, Claude and Hank Himmelberger.
