Virginia Marie Barnes' Obituary
Mrs. Virginia M. Barnes, age 80, passed on to be with her husband on Saturday, December 18, 2004 in Muskegon. She was born on November 18, 1924 to Russell & Bertha (Plant) Jibson, and had resided in the Muskegon area all of her life. Virginia married Harold F. Barnes, on September 26, 1942, and he preceded her in death on October 25, 1983. They were married 41 years together, and lived at the same address of 6865 Evanston their entire lives. Virginia was a member of the VFW Derezinski Post #7729 Auxiliary. She also belonged to the Jibson Church of Egelston Twp. SURVIVORS include 1 son, Thomas (Donna) Barnes of Twin Lake; 2 daughters, Cecelia (Arnold) Risthouse of Muskegon, and Peggy Gale (Denny Young) of Conklin, MI; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Gerald (Phyllis) Jibson of Ravenna;1 sister, Gloria (Bill) Mann of Muskegon; sisters-in-law, Virginia Miles and June Jibson; brother-in-law, Ben Johnson and many nieces and nephews. Virginia was also preceded in death by baby son, Patrick Barnes; brothers, Cecil Jibson, Russell Jibson; and sister, Phyllis Johnson. SERVICES will be 3 PM Thursday at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 with Rev. John Romanosky officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service, from 2-3 PM. Burial will take place in Egelston Twp. Cemetery. Memorial Contributions to the Egelston Twp. Fire Department will be appreciated.
