Virginia "May" Brooks' Obituary
Mrs. Virginia “May” Brooks, age 75, passed away early Sunday morning, May 25, 2008 in Muskegon. She was born August 2, 1932 to John and Gertrude (Franken) Wilber in Muskegon, and lived most of her life here. May worked for the Muskegon Public Schools before retiring. Spending time with family and friends brought her great happiness. She enjoyed gardening, her flowers, and wintering in Florida. May was married to Ken Brooks, who preceded her in death. She later married Giles “Al” Hamm, Sr., who also preceded her in death. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Jeanne Hippler of Holton, Gary (Amy) Brooks of Twin Lake, Judy (Rob) Treptow of Muskegon; 6 grandchildren, Wendy, Patrick, April, Lindsay, Brandon, and Tyler; 3 great-grandchildren, Patrick, Jr., Aiden, and Ashton. Survivors also include Giles (Eleanor) Hamm, Jr. of German Town, TN, Michael (Barbara) Hamm of New Port Richey, FL, Tony (Kim) Hamm of Ludington, Paula (E.F.) Worden of Memphis, TN, Tonya (Dave) Baker of Fountain, MI, Don (Pat) Stewart of Detroit. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Fred Hippler; 2 brothers, Carl and Richard Wilber.
