Virgnia Ann Hotz's Obituary
Virginia Ann Hotz, 91, of Muskegon, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on August 25, 2022. She was born to parents Harry & Mary Peel, on December 23, 1930, in Muskegon, Michigan. She graduated from Muskegon High School in 1949 and went on to graduate from Mercy Central School of Nursing in 1952. Virginia worked several years as a Registered Nurse for Hospice and for 10 years at the Muskegon Regional Center from which she retired in 1986. Virginia met the love of her life, Hugo Hotz Jr. and were joined in holy matrimony on September 6, 1952. To this blessed union were born 6 sons: Blair (Suzette) Hotz of Grand Rapids; Bradley (Patricia, deceased) Hotz, Brian Hotz, Blaine Hotz, Blake Hotz (David Gregersen) of Muskegon; Brent (Carla) Hotz of Grand Rapids. Virginia made the Muskegon Chronicle headline on July 21, 1964, with the first girl to be born to the Hotz family in 90 years; Mary Beth (Michael) of Ludington; She also raised Hugo’s brother, Randy (deceased). Virginia is survived by 2 sisters, Billie (Michael) Strah & Carol Bodenberg (Bud) of Muskegon, Michigan; 3 grandchildren, Blair (Erin) Hotz II, Marissa VanBergen, and Michael Hugo VanBergen; 2 great-grandchildren, Ella VanBergen and Adeline Virginia VanBergen, nieces, nephews, family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugo Hotz Jr, her mother, Mary Peel, her father, Harry Peel, and infant sister, Mary Frances Peel. Virginia "Gingy" Hotz was a devoted wife & mother with a kind and giving heart. She was known for her strength, compassion, faith and understanding. She always gave words of encouragement, through countless phone calls and sent cards to anyone who needed them. Virginia's #1 commitment was to her family. Her happiest times were spent caring for and nurturing her husband and children. She will be dearly missed. A Memorial Service will be held at Temple United Methodist Church, 2500 Jefferson Street, Muskegon Heights, Mi 49444, on Monday, November 21, at 2:00pm. Rev. Jeff Bowman will be officiating. A reception with refreshments will immediately follow at the same location. Private interment took place at Lakeside Cemetery in Muskegon, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Temple United Methodist Church in memory of Virginia Hotz.
