Mr. Vitald "Vit" F. Jawor's Obituary
Vitald “Vit” F. Jawor, age 93, passed away Monday, October 26, 2015. He was born June 5, 1922 in Muskegon to John and Monika (Brietfeist) Jawor. At the age of 18 Vit joined the United States Navy and served his country from 1941 to 1947. On July 5, 1947 he married the love of his life, the former Margaret Lakatos, and they spent 68 happy years together. He was a charter member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and a member of VFW Post 7729. Vit enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cribbage, dancing and was always a joker. He loved everyone and was loved by all. He is survived by his wife; children, Joe (Susan) Jawor, Verone Louise Jawor; grandson, Neal (Lacea) Card; brother, Carl Jawor; sister, Helen McGibbon; god-child, Susan Gelling and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Walter Jawor, Ted Jawor; sisters, Irene (Joe) Sechen, Jennie (Louie) Wisniewski, Rose Jones; sister-in-law, Bernadette Jawor. A FUNERAL MASS for Vit will take place at 11:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church (3252 Apple Ave.) on Saturday, October 31, 2015. A VISITATION with the family will take place an hour prior to services at church. Entombment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to The Lee Chapel, 6291 S.
