Vivian A. Garvey's Obituary
Mrs. Vivian A. Garvey, age 72, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on February 5, 1940 in Roseau, Minnesota to Ellert and Catherine (Hogan) Aamodt. Vivian worked as a beautician for many years, and alongside her husband at Garvey Dental Lab. She was a 35 year member of St. Jean’s Catholic Church, and attended Our Lady of Grace and St. Thomas Catholic Churches. Vivian touched many lives, especially those of her grandchildren and she loved spending time with them. She was a beloved wife and mother to her family. On October 17, 1959 she married Jackie “Jack” Garvey, and together they celebrated 50 years of marriage. Jack preceded her in death on January 10, 2010. SURVIVORS include 2 daughters, Kelly A. Garvey-Heiss of Muskegon and Kirsten (Andrew) Gibbs of Twin Lake; her 9 grandchildren, Joshua, Elijah, Miranda, Zebadiah, Elaine, Caleb, Isaac, Ava, Michael; and 1 great granddaughter, Emma. Vivian was also preceded in death by her son, Erik in 2001; 2 sisters, Claudia Dyga and Edith Briggs; and 2 brothers, Edward Aamodt, DDS, and John Aamodt. Per Vivian’s request, Graveside Services will be 11AM Thursday at St. Mary’s Cemetery for family and close friends. Memorial Contributions to Harbor Hospice will be appreciated.
