Vivian C. Branyan's Obituary
Mrs. Vivian C. Branyan, age 84, died early Monday morning, November 17, 2003. She was born March 24, 1919 in Iron River, MI to Hubert and Floy (Harrington) Clark. Mrs. Branyan was a resident of Spring Lake for 35 years, and lived the past four years in Muskegon. She was a graduate of the Hackley School of Nursing, and worked as an R.N. for 20 years for Dr. Ken Wells in Spring Lake. Mrs. Branyan was a member of the Early Birds of Aviation and the author of “All God’s Children Got Wings”. She was also instrumental in distributing Christmas presents throughout the state to foster children on behalf of Child and Family Services, and served as a Board member for many years. Mrs. Branyan was a member of Zonta, and spent many years preparing and serving luncheons for the United Way in Ottawa County. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Spring Lake, where she sang in the choir for many years. On September 24, 1949, she married Virgil Branyan, and he preceded her in death on July 8, 2003. SURVIVORS include 4 daughters, Maureen Haan, Shannon Thomas, Rebecca (Don) Daniels, Melissa (Tom) Taylor; 7 grandchildren, Jessica (Bill) Ogle, Jennifer and David Thomas, Joshua Schmidt, Kathryn Daniels, Brigid and Eileen Taylor; 2 great-grandchildren, Kennedi and Madilyn Ogle; 2 brothers, Hugh Clark, Chet (Joan) Clark; 2 sisters, Gladys King, Joyce (Don) Parolari; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Manley Clark; sister, Mae Watson; and son-in-law, Vern Haan. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at
