Wallace Burdette Snowfleet D.O.'s Obituary
Wallace Burdette Snowfleet, D.O., age 95 passed away Friday, May 25, 2018 at his home, surrounded by family. Wallace was born March 30, 1923 in Muskegon to Jess and Peggy (Hazekamp) Snowfleet. He served our country in the US Navy during WWII, and was training to be a rescue plane pilot for those shot down in the ocean. After returning home, he embarked on his journey into the medical field. He graduated from Kirksville University and went on to become an Osteopathic Doctor. Wallace had a general practice for 17 years and worked with the VA for another 17 years, retiring in 1988. On September 15, 1975, he married the former Carol Marie Beauvais and she survives him. Wallace and Carol both shared a passion for sailing that they enjoyed for many years. He was a member of the Muskegon Osteopathic Physicians as well as the Muskegon Seventh Day Adventist Church where he had served as a deacon. In addition to Carol, his wife of 42 years, Wallace is survived by his children, Scott Snowfleet of Boynton Beach, FL, Holly Cassel of N. Muskegon, Bart (Phu Anh Le) Snowfleet of San Francisco, CA, Donald (Julie) Seaman of Mentor, OH, and Nancy Seaman of Chesterfield, MO; 6 grandchildren, Alyson, Jesse, Daisha, Meagan, Jordan, and Bailey; 3 great grandchildren, Corbin, Demitri, and Kaiya; and several nieces and nephews. Wallace was preceded in death by his parents; his former wife, Patricia Lynn VanBeukering; and his brother, Jim Snowfleet. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11 AM Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at The Seventh-day Adventist Church (3040 Evanston Ave), with Pastor Ryan Counsell officiating and Full Military Rites afforded under the auspices of VFW Muskegon County Council. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church, from 10-11AM.
