Wallace H. Olson's Obituary
Mr. Wallace “Wally” Helmar Olson, age 89, passed away at North Ottawa Community Hospital on October 19, 2004. He was born June 1, 1915 in Muskegon, the oldest of two sons born to Nellie and Helmar Olson. He graduated from Muskegon High School and the University of Michigan of which he was very proud. He served proudly as a Captain in the U.S. Army during WW II and spent two years in the Philippines. He was a former owner of SUPREME of Spring Lake. His wife of 61 years, June, survives as do children Linda (Terry) Frysinger of Frankfort, Michigan, Greg (Bonnie) of Spring Lake, Dennis of New Buffalo and Steve of Coopersville, five grandchildren, Heide and Jake (Mikki) Frysinger, Erica (Ryan) Esslinger, Andrea (Joe) Jackson and Michael and 2 great-grandchildren. He was an active member of Samuel Lutheran Church for many years. Friends may greet the family at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. Muskegon, MI 49441,4-7 PM Thursday (today), October 21, 2004. SERVICES will be 11 AM Friday, October 22, 2004, at Samuel Lutheran Church (540 Houston) with the Rev. Chris Anderson officiating, with burial in Spring Lake Cemetery. MEMORIALS in his name may be directed to Samuel Lutheran Church or Community Mental Health Services of Grand Haven, in lieu of flowers.
