Walter A. "Poppie" Brudi's Obituary
Walter August “Poppie” Brudi, of Spring Lake, Michigan, peacefully passed away at his home on October 11, 2016. Walter was born in Queens, New York and remained a resident of New York until his retirement in 1996. He briefly attended Niagara University and after 1 semester “graduated” and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps to serve his country. At that time, he married Carol Ann (Finn) Brudi in 1960. Following the Marines, he began a 35 year career at Long Island Lighting Company. After retiring, Walter and his wife, Carol, moved to Muskegon. Being unable to sit still, he took a part-time job at Norton Pines Athletic Club and instantly became the friendly face that employees and members loved to be around. SURVIVORS include his daughters, Daryl Beth Wachter (Peter), Laurian Sequeira (Michael) and Toby Jean Schrier (Mark); as well as the pride and joy of his life, his grandchildren, Alex, Collin, Ryan, Nick, Mallory, Anny and Shea. He is also survived by his two younger sisters, Debbie Caines Moschello and Susan Brudi Krieger; and his special friend, Sandy Gleason along with many devoted family members and cherished friends. Walter will be remembered for his positive attitude, infectious smile, sincere empathy, love of life and dedicated admiration to his family and friends. A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be held at the Muskegon Country Club, 2801 Lakeshore Dr. at 12 Noon on Monday, October 17, 2016. Memorial contributions may be directed to Toys for Tots in Walters honor, so that his happiness and generosity can continue to reach the hearts of those less fortunate this holiday season. Arrangements are being handled by The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231)798-1100. Please visit the family’s online guest book at www.sytsemafh.com
