Walter H. Springer's Obituary
Mr. Walter Harold Springer, age 73, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 18, 2021 on Beaver Island, MI. He was born on August 27, 1947 in Muskegon. Walt proudly served his country while in the United States Army and was a current member of the Holton American Legion Post 397. Walt married the former Kay Evoy and together they enjoyed 45 years of marriage before she passed away July 6, 2012. Walt enjoyed using his carpentry skills tinkering around to create projects and always kept his yard in pristine condition. He was an avid race fan and enjoyed spending his time golfing, hunting, and feeding the birds in his yard. Walt will be missed by his sons, David (Tonya) Springer and Bruce (Alicia) Springer; grandchildren, Dakota Springer, Stella Springer, Collin Springer, and Jacob Springer; longtime companion, Ruth Ann Jacobsen; siblings, Eloda Moran, Leona Moore, Louie (Bobbie) Springer, and Tom (Carol) Springer; and many nieces and nephews. Walt was also preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Lois Cooper and Beverly Cline. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00AM, Thursday, July 22 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
