Walter "Walt" N. Riley's Obituary
Walter N. Riley, age 65, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019. He was born on June 9, 1953 to Vernon and Josephine (Johnson) Riley in Muskegon. Walt spent over 20 years as a member of the Norton Shores Fire Department. He was very proud of his time serving the community. Walt enjoyed going hunting throughout the years with his father and relatives. He was quick with a joke, but many times lacked the humor to pull them off. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Riley; daughter, Rebecca Riley; grandchildren, Lynsey Schaub (John Melin), Alexis (AD Barnes) and Stephen Blawat; great-grandchildren, Sierra Barnes, Walker Melin; step-children, Chris Davey, Heather (Ken) Rager; step-grandchildren, Crystal (TJ) Brantman, Katelyn Rager, Zakk Rager, Chance Davey and Kezia Davey; step-great-grandchildren, TJ Brantman Jr., Gabriel Brantman,; brother, Frank (Beverly) Riley, Charles (Wilma) Riley; sisters, Arbutise Paszkowski, Sandra (Larry) Polidori. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sharon; great-grandchild, Raven Barnes; brother, James and a sister. VISITATION with Walt’s family will take place on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. A PUBLIC GRAVESIDE service will be held on Monday, April 1, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Norton Cemetery on Airline Rd. in Norton Shores.
