Mrs. Walthea E. Freye's Obituary
Mrs. Walthea E. Freye, 94, passed away Thursday morning, March 8, 2018, in Muskegon. She was born May 22, 1923 in Holland, MI to Jacob and Dana (Kik) Boven. Walthea was a member of Forest Park Covenant Church, had worked as a Registered Nurse for almost 40 years at Hackley Hospital before retiring, and was an avid gardener. The former Walthea Boven married Robert L. Freye on April 20, 1950. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2001. Survivors include 5 children: Tim (Wanda) Freye of Fruitport, Dan (Mary) Freye of Montague, Beth Freye of Grand Rapids, Mark (Maureen Leonard) Freye of Buckley, Bruce (Brenda) Freye of Fruitport; son-in-law: Bob Whitlock of Fruitport; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her daughter: Nancy Jo (Freye) Whitlock. The funeral service for Mrs. Freye will be held Monday, March 12, at 3:00 PM at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100, with Pastor Wayne Muri officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be 1 hour prior to the service.
