Mrs. Wanda Davis' Obituary
Wanda Davis, age 92, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013 in Grand Haven. She was born in Fayette, OH on February 28, 1921 to Charles and Reah (Acker) Marzolf. On April 9, 1943, Wanda married Gerald “Jerry” Davis in Denver, CO and he preceded her in death on November 16, 2002. They moved to Norton Shores in 1954. Wanda worked for the City of Norton Shores for 20 years and retired as City Treasurer in 1983. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, she enjoyed volunteering with the Red Cross at Hackley Hospital, and spent many years tutoring children in reading. Wanda loved to golf and and was a member of Lincoln Golf Club. She enjoyed shopping, fishing, and playing bridge with her bridge club friends. She will be remembered as an active individual who always wore a beautiful smile. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Wanda is survived by 4 children, Rollin (Kathy) Davis of Muskegon, Jerilyn Hopper of Midland, Jocelyn (Bill Irwin) St. Amour of Grand Haven, and Jeffrey Davis of Muskegon; 6 grandchildren, Justin, Joshua, and Emily Davis, Jordan and Grant Hopper, Jacob Davis, Sara and Robert Irwin; 3 great-grandchildren; a sister, Joan Ziegler; and many loving nieces and a nephew. In addition to her husband, Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters, Ilva Donohoe and Mavis DeWulf. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Friday at St. Mark Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark Gilson officiating. VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS to Hospice of North Ottawa would be appreciated. Burial will be in Norton Cemetery.
