Wanda J. Frutchey's Obituary
Wanda Jennie Frutchey, age 102, passed away peacefully in Muskegon, MI, on Monday, November 17, 2025. She was born in Muskegon on March 18, 1923, to Stanley and Jennie (Szculzewski) Schinzel, and she lived her whole life in the Muskegon area. On October 25, 1958 she married Roscoe “Bud” Frutchey, and the two of them spent 66 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death in January of 2025. Wanda worked various jobs throughout her life; from 1949 to 1960 she worked as the manager of the hot lunch program for Churchill Schools, then from 1960 to 1973 she worked as a decorator and bookkeeper for Frutchey Construction, and then she went on to work in real estate sales for Vollmers and Clyde Hendrick Realtors until retiring in 1990. Following her retirement, she volunteered at the Hackley Hospital Cancer Center, and she belonged to the Women’s Viking Golf group. She enjoyed golfing, crafting, and decorating, and was a longtime member of Lake Harbor United Methodist Church.
Wanda will be lovingly remembered by her four children: Sandra (James) Childers, Eugene Oullette, Wayne (Karen) Frutchey, and Mark (Suzanne) Frutchey; and four grandchildren: Erin Frutchey, Eric Frutchey, Kim Shepperson, and Bob Wolfe. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Jennie Shinzel; husband, Roscoe “Bud” Frutchey; and sister, Irene Schinzel.
A Private Graveside Service will be held for Wanda at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harbor Hospice Foundation.
