Wanda Jean Gundy's Obituary
Mrs. Wanda J. Gundy, 82 died peacefully Thursday, April 11, 2013 after an extended struggle with Alzheimers. Born April 5, 1931 to Lloyd and Mona (Briggs) Pixley, she was a lifelong resident of Muskegon and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was instrumental in establishing the church library and where she was often found greeting everyone with a big hug. She was always happiest when she had her family around her and she adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She fought her disease with grace, humor and a tremendous amount of courage and determination to not let the disease take her away from the life that she enjoyed so much. Wanda is survived by her loving husband and partner of 62 years Robert H. Gundy, who spent most of each day over the past eight years by her side in the nursing home; children Rick (Katherine) Gundy, Robert (Jill) Gundy, Pamela Smith, Roger Gundy, Paula (Walt) Love; eleven grandchildren, Colin (Grace) Klein, Heather (Kerwin), Ashley (Jeff), Ryan (Dani), Kristin (Brendon), Chad (Racheal), Jennifer, Roger (Kellie), Rachel (Chris), Emily, Sloan and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters Corina (John) De Young and Dolores Kramer and sister-in-laws Jackie Pixley, Marilyn Tanner, Rhudell Gundy and Eleva Jensen. She was preceded in death by her youngest daughter Patricia (Steve) Bowen; her parents; brother Lloyd Pixley and brother-in-laws Randall Kramer, LaVerne Tanner, Ralph Gundy and Melvin Jensen.
