Wanda L. Alvesteffer's Obituary
Mrs. Wanda L. Alvesteffer, 81, passed away Tuesday afternoon at Mercy Hospital. Born Oct. 11, 1927 in Mears to Harry and Marvel (Urtel) Fenton, she lived in Muskegon since her marriage to Ralph J. Alvesteffer on June 5, 1948 in Weare, MI. Mrs. Alvesteffer had been a telephone operator, a seamstress and worked in the billing office at Hackley Hospital before retiring in 1992. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She is SURVIVED BY her loving and devoted husband, Ralph; four daughters: Linda Stefanich (and fiancé Ted Sebranek) and Sandy (Marty) Neff both of Muskegon, Marsha (Tom) Wright of Ravenna and Barb (Chuck) Carriere of Muskegon; grandchildren: Christopher Stefanich (and friend Holly Allway), Lisa (Craig) Cooper, Tony (Amanda) Rusin, Bridgette (Greg) O’Connor, Heather Rusin, Joshua (Katrina) Stefanich, Ryan (Jennifer) Wright, Katie Stefanich (and friend Greg Schroeder), Chip Carriere, and Paul Wright (and fiancée Morgan Markiecki); and great grandchildren: Brandon and Mason Cooper, Shiloh Sias, Timothy Stefanich, Abby and Finn O’Connor, Joslyn and Daisey Stefanich, Aurora, Sierra and Alayna Wilson, and Madison Diamond-Wright and Lauren Wright. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry A. and Marvel Fenton; brothers Leonard and Charles Fenton; and a sister, Mabel Dean. Mrs. Alvesteffer especially enjoyed reading and crocheting. MANY area children are recipients of her hand-made baby blankets. The FUNERAL MASS for Mrs. Wanda Alvesteffer will begin 11:00 A.M. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Ron Schneider as Presider, and entombment in St. Mary’s Mausoleum. VISITATION will be at The Walburn Chapel,Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441 (231-759-8565) from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Sunday, concluding with a ROSARY SERVICE at 7:30 P.M. Sunday. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS to St. Mary’s Church Restoration Fund would be appreciated.
