Neal Stone
Bozhoo Cousin Warren.
You and I shared many adventures and created many memories together in our early years.
We shared birthdays together when we were young.
We sailed Mona Lake together in a leaky old row boat, aided by, in your words, aunt Mona's bed sheet. I sneaked it out of my room and onto that row boat. We placed a mast in the center of it somehow, and fitted aunt Mona's sheet to it. We sailed clear across Mona Lake and then discovered that the wind wasn't going to take us back to our starting place. So we got in the water at the back of the boat and leg paddled it all the way back across the lake. It was a long way. And we have laughed about that many times over the years. Mom never found out about what happened to my bed sheet.
And the time that a ghost followed us home one night evidenced by the dust being kicked up on the road behind us and the sound of steps. We ran all the way to my house. I don't recall us laughing about this one. And when we went to California together and worked at Carl's car wash; the squeal of tires and that "incident". Or the time you worked at Denny's and got to work early sometimes. Or the brilliant move you made with the records. Best move ever. To this day I still see you waving good-by to me from the Greyhound bus that took you away from me and back to Michigan and home. So many memories.
I missed you then cousin, and more over the years. You left me alone that day for me to go my way, and you went yours. We were blessed to spend a little time together over the years, and I cherish those memories. And now you have moved on once more. One day I will join you again and God willing, we will make more memories together. I love and miss you Warren. God has you now.
