Wayne R. Brooks' Obituary
Wayne Richard Brooks, age 81, passed away Wednesday morning, January 27, 2016. He was born January 1, 1935 (and yes, he would tell you that he was “THE” New Year’s baby) to Leonard and Gertrude (Snyder) Brooks. Mr. Brooks worked for CWC Textron in Plant 1 for 30 years before retiring. On July 17, 1954 he married Carolyn M. Osborn in Muskegon. Wayne enjoyed deer hunting, riding his motorcycle and going on many Spring Runs, and listening to music and was very proud of his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carolyn; 2 sons: Richard (Michelle) Brooks of Twin Lake, Kenneth (Karen) Brooks of Baldwin; 6 grandchildren: Kevin Brooks, Kristopher (Heather) Brooks, Kenny (Ali) Brooks, Janae (Arnie) Pomeroy, Justin (Katie) Wilson, Kyle (Courtney) Brooks; 6 great-grandchildren: Cynthia Brooks, Mason and Maddox Pomeroy, Evelyn, Grayson, and Braelyn Brooks; and another great-grandchild on the way. Wayne was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Yvonne Brooks; 3 brothers: Ron, Ken, and Jim Brooks. A CELEBRATION of Wayne’s life will be held from 2-6 PM Sunday, January 31, 2016 at his home, 3816 Sweeter Rd., Twin Lake. MEMORIALS to Harbor Hospice will be appreciated.
