Wayne Andrew Strieder's Obituary
Wayne A. Strieder, age 78, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018. He was born on August 5, 1939 to Christian and Bernice (Dahl) Strieder in Muskegon. On November 9, 1963 he married the love of his life, the former Janet Taylor. He worked for numerous companies as a tool maker until his retirement in 2003. Wayne enjoyed drinking beer with friends and family while entertaining in his garage. He will be remembered by his candid sense of humor through all aspects in life. Wayne enjoyed classic cars; owning his own ‘57 Chevy and a ’39 Plymouth. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janet Strieder; daughter, Anita (William) Zimmer; sisters, Marilyn Strieder, Barbara (Richard) Monhardt, Frances Hemond; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Smith, Shirley (Dave) Plamondon, Charlene (Norm) Foy; brother-in-law, Jim Taylor; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Ann Marie Strieder; and brother, Nick Strieder. VISITATION with Wayne’s family will take place on Monday, February 19, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231-798-1100). A MEMORIAL SERVICE will take place on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 12:00 PM with visitation taking place an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Wayne’s name can be made to either the Muskegon Johnson Family Cancer Center or the Harbor Hospice Foundation.
