Wesley Howard Evans' Obituary
Wesley Howard Evans, age 53, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, in Muskegon, Michigan. Wesley was born in Muskegon to Terry Evans and Debra (Reilly) Chingman. He spent the majority of his life in the Muskegon area, where he built a life full of love, worked hard, and remained deeply dedicated to his family. On August 24, 1991, Wesley married the love of his life, Wenona Evans. Together, they shared 34 wonderful years of marriage and created a lifetime of cherished memories.
Wes was a proud and loving father to his two sons, Michael and Tyler Evans. After earning his GED, he pursued a career as a true Muskegon Lumberjack — a title he carried with pride. For over 30 years, he worked as an arborist, dedicating himself to his craft and passing that same passion on to his sons. Outside of work, Wes had a love for classic cars and motorcycles, and he treasured time spent with his family and beloved dog, Lily. Whether he was working on project cars, out riding his bike, or simply enjoying a quiet moment at home, Wes found joy in the simple things and in the company of those he loved most.
Wesley is survived by his wife, Wenona; sons, Michael and Tyler Evans; granddaughter, Jaylee Evans; father, Terry Evans; mother, Debbie (Dan) Chingman; brothers, Jeremiah Evans and stepbrother Anthony Chingman; and sister, Teri Lee Sorensen. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and stepmother, Cindy Evans. Wesley’s life will be honored in a private celebration of life by his family at a later date.
