Wessie L. Hunter's Obituary
Wessie L. Hunter, age 85, passed away on July 30, 2021 at home. She was born on February 22, 1936 to Wesley and Earlie (Hughes) Davis in Plain Dealing, LA. Wessie moved to Muskegon at the age of 8 with her family. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and polishing brass intently. SURVIVORS include 8 children, Etta (Tony) Kirkpatrick, Alvinia (Charles) Bussey, Beverly Wells, Bruce Hunter, Tommy Hunter, Kimberly (Roy) Collins, Derrick (Tamara) Dozier and Dexter (Erica) Hunter; 39 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Floyd Woods, Glynn Davis and sister, Jean Williams along with several nieces and nephews. Wessie was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Selena Dorsey. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held for Wessie 12:00pm, August 9, 2021 at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 737 Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49441. VISITATION with the family will be hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS can be directed to the Alzheimer Association in Wessie’s name. Burial will take place at Restlawn Cemetery in Muskegon.
