Wiladene "Billie" H. Ostrander's Obituary
Wiladene H. “Billie” Ostrander, age 98, passed away Friday, September 20, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born on March 29, 1926 in Muskegon to Warren and Ethel (Green) Siscoe, and was a life resident of the area. Billie dedicated many years to working at Meijer, while also serving as a nanny and house cleaner throughout her life. She worked as a crossing guard for Muskegon Public Schools, where in 1969, she saved a young man's life. A longtime member of Lakeside Assembly of God in Muskegon, Billie was active in the Women’s Missionary Society, taught Sunday School for 45 years, and managed the church's daycare. She deeply loved her family and was known for being a wonderful cook. On June 7, 1946 she married Robert Ostrander and he preceded her in death on November 1, 2020. SURVIVORS include five sons, Robert Ostrander, Jr., Jim (Marcia) Ostrander, Ted (Nella) Ostrander, Donald (Sonia) Ostrander, David (Alice) Ostrander; 12 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; a few great great grandchildren; brother, Gary Siscoe; and sister, Carol Hoos. Billie was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Siscoe; and daughter in law, Jeannie Ostrander. FUNERAL SERVICES for Billie will be 11AM Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Grace Assembly of God (2956 E. Pontaluna Rd, Fruitport) with Pastor Casey Arnouts officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service at church, from 10-11 AM. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery.
