Mr. Wilbur A. Strandberg Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Wilbur Arthur Strandberg Sr., age 70, passed away Saturday evening July 19, 2014. He was born December 21, 1943 in Muskegon to Gerald and Elizabeth (Lofton) Strandberg. Mr. Strandberg was in the United States Navy for 20 years and retired in 1982. He had also worked over 20 years for Kurdziel Iron Industries in Rothbury, Michigan. He was a member of the VFW Post 8846 and a life member of D.A.D.S. He enjoyed yard work and gardening and especially loved the Fourth of July. Mr. Strandberg was a very proud man and loved helping other people. On November 2, 1963 he married the former Sandra Pierce in Lakewood and she survives him along with four children: Wilbur (Lisa) Strandberg, Jr. of San Antonio Texas, Gerald (Caroleia) Strandberg of Waynesboro Virginia, Sean Strandberg of Michigan, Christopher (Kimberly) Strandberg of Twin Lake; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers: Gerald (Gloria) Strandberg of Twin Lake, Floyd (Sandra) Strandberg of Norton Shores; two sisters Louise Gillespie of Muskegon, Cheryl (Richard) Denton of Pittsburg, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lynn Strandberg. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 26, 2014 at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., (231) 726-5210, with his brother Floyd Strandberg officiating. Burial will take place in Oakland Cemetery on Russell Rd. VISITATION with the family will be held one hour prior to the service.
