I read about Willard's death in the Muskegon Chronicle last week. Please accept my most heartfelt sympathies for your loss. My thoughts are with you and your families during this difficult time. Like my twin sister, Sharon, said, our families spent many memorable times together. I can remember picnics in the back yard of Maxine's, Willard's, Sandy's and Don's house, many trips to the beach, many wonderful visits. Willard was truly a very inspirational man and will be missed by us all.
You are in my thoughts.

Willard's second wife, Maxine, was my Mother's (Margaret) dearest friend. Our families (we lived in Grand Rapids) visited often in Muskegon, enjoying the beach and picnic lunches. Mom and Willard kept in touch over the years till her death, and we all enjoyed Willard's company and many witty letters. He was so dear to Maxine, Sandy and Don. We will miss him and want his family to know that his contributions to all of our lives will be cherished forever. I news of Willard's death arrived this afternoon and I wanted to express how sorry I am to hear it.

As a young person, I had the opportunity to work with his mother Rose in establishing the outdoor museum White Pine Village near Ludington. Willard visited us annually always very proud of his mother's accomplishments.

Like Rose, he lived a long and productive life and we will miss him.

No expression of sympathy--no matter how deeply felt---can help much right now, but I wanted you to know that my thoughts are with you.
