Willene H. "Willie" Coles' Obituary
Willene H. “Willie” Coles, age 90, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Trinity Health – Muskegon Campus. She was born January 8, 1933 in Muskegon to Nunna and Grace (Bouwman) Houseman and was a lifelong resident of the area. Willie was a proud homemaker and raised a family of 6 children. After the kids were old enough, she worked for 10 years at K-Mart where she made many good friendships. She was a longtime member of Wolf Lake United Methodist Church and had been active for many years in her ladies’ birthday club. On October 4, 1986, she married William L. Coles in Reno, NV and he survives her along with 5 children, Donald (Kathi) Alderink, Dennis (Dawn) Alderink, Debbra (Doug) Ream, Diane (Ralph) Morse, Dawn (Jim) VanBergen; 1 step-son, Brian Coles; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-granddaughter; her sister, Ardeth Pulsipher; and her special dog, Maddie. She was preceded in death by 1 son, Richard Alderink; 1 granddaughter, Jamie Ream; her parents and 1 sister, Lois Portenga. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, February 13, 2023 at Wolf Lake United Methodist Church (378 Vista Terrace, Muskegon, MI 49442) with Pastor Carl Black officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at Laketon Township Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be directed to Wolf Lake United Methodist Church. Arrangements handled by The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 Apple Ave, Muskegon, MI 49442.
