William James Barton's Obituary
William James Barton went to be with Jesus on Saturday, November 4, 2023. He was born in Muskegon, MI on May 9, 1966. He graduated from the National Education Center with a degree in Electronic Engineering Technology in 1986. He ran several businesses over the years including QSI and Echo Fire & Security LLC. He went on to obtain several high-level certifications in fire safety and security. He was an all-around handy-man and enjoyed helping others. When he wasn't working in the field, you could find him working on a project around his home or helping others in need. He loved his family more than anything. Spending time with his grandchildren was always a highlight in his day. He enjoyed building and repairing things, fishing, watching movies with his daughters when they were young, listening to music, and spending time with his family and doing activities with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Barton, and is survived by his father, William Barton; sister, Shelley Barton; brother, Jon (Nicole) Barton; daughters, Courtney Barton (John Pitre) and Katelyn Barton; his grandchildren, Owen Denney, Sophia Regnier, and Scarlet Clark; nephews, Andrew Barton & Nathan Barton; former spouse, Tami Barton; and best friend, Gary Farnquist. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday at Lake Harbor United Methodist Church, 4861 S. Henry Street, Norton Shores, MI 49441 with Pastor Mary Ivanov officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
