Mr. William D. Basch's Obituary
Mr. William D. “Bill” Basch, age 69, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 29 at his home. He was born on June 4, 1950 to Bernard and Martha (Roumpz) Basch in Muskegon. A lifelong resident of the area, Bill worked at Muskegon General Hospital as an LPN, until they closed. He then worked at Mercy Hospital and eventually retired from Brookhaven Nursing Home. He adored his two feline companions, Tux and Harper Lee. Bill enjoyed doing crafts while his hands allowed him, and enjoyed collecting panda bears. He had a big heart and always cared for others. He will be remembered as a jokester who made sure you had a smile on your face. Bill is survived by his children, Stefani Puckett and Todd (Jeanne) Basch; grandchildren, Brittany Puckett, Andrew Puckett and Zachary Basch; ex-wife, Linda (Russ) Barnes; and siblings, Patricia (Robert) Kelley, Dennis (Donna) Basch and David (Keil) Basch. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Bernard Basch, Charles Basch, Larry Basch and Lester Basch. A Memorial Service will be held 11AM Monday, February 3 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with Fr. Norm Droski presiding. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, February 2 from 1-3PM and one hour prior to the service, from 10-11AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions directed to the family to help with funeral expenses would be appreciated.
